PROJECT OVERVIEW

AI-native dealership operations

DealerOS AI connects repair orders, technician inspections, media, advisor review, estimates, customer decisions and declined-service recovery. It is positioned as a controlled fixed-operations pilot—not as a finished replacement for every commercial DMS.

CURRENT PILOT WORKFLOW

From repair order to customer decision

  1. An authenticated dealership employee creates or imports a repair order.
  2. DealerOS links the customer, vehicle and rooftop records.
  3. A technician records inspection findings, measurements and media.
  4. An advisor reviews findings and prepares an estimate.
  5. A secure, expiring link collects itemized customer decisions and signature.
  6. Approvals, declines, timestamps and follow-up records return to the RO and audit trail.

REQUIRED AI DISCLOSURE

How Codex and GPT-5.6 were used

Lucas Stewart supplied the automotive-retail expertise, product vision, real dealership workflows, safety rules and acceptance decisions.

OpenAI Codex powered by GPT-5.6 helped inspect and extend the codebase; design the TypeScript architecture and relational data model; implement APIs, permissions and persistent workflows; generate migrations and tests; diagnose broken interactions; document the system; and validate production deployments.

TECHNOLOGY

Modern, type-safe foundation

  • React 19 and TypeScript
  • Next.js-compatible Vinext application
  • Cloudflare Worker runtime
  • D1 relational database with Drizzle migrations
  • R2-ready secure media storage
  • Sites-owned authentication and deployment

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

External integrations require authorization

Live CDK, Reynolds, Tekion, Xtime, OEM, labor-guide, parts-catalog, texting, payment, lender and accounting integrations require commercial agreements, credentials and vendor-specific validation. The public demonstration contains fictional data only.
